Under the motto “Jubilant Summer”, the online marketplace eBay is bringing the winning goal from the final of the 2014 World Cup to Germany – to its fans.
The 113th minute, the winning goal from the 2014 World Cup final. A magical, emotional moment, firmly anchored in the minds of every football fan in Germany. But the goal in whose net the final was decided four years ago has been gathering dust in a dark room in the catacombs of the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro ever since. Now eBay is saving the goal - and bringing it to Germany.
"The winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final - we all celebrated it, each of us knows where we were when the decisive goal was scored. We want to make this moment in German football history a reality for every fan. That's why we're bringing the goal home - to its 80 million fans in Germany and to the Berlin fan mile," said Sascha Eisenschink, Social Media Marketing Manager at eBay Germany.

Fans can relive the rescue operation on the online marketplace's social channels (https://www.facebook.com/ebay.de/), and from June 17, the goal will be on display at all German preliminary round matches on the Berlin fan mile. Football fans can re-enact the decisive scene of the final and take photos of themselves with the goal.
During the preliminary round, eBay will be giving away the goal for the final day via social networks - so the winner with the goal can watch this year's final. Final party equipment for family and friends is also part of the prize.
Anyone who posts a photo or video with the hashtag #Jubelsommer on Facebook or Instagram before the last preliminary round match, along with their wish for where the goal to the final should be and a reason why they want to win, will automatically be entered into the raffle.
