The Alfa Romeo factory museum in Arese is now looking back on a successful but little-known chapter in the brand's history as the brand celebrates its 110th anniversary.
The “Cavalli Marini” (“Seahorses”) exhibition features racing boats with Alfa Romeo engines that have won numerous world and European championships and set speed records.
A highlight is the “Arno II”, which was powered by the type of engine with which Alfa Romeo won the Formula 1950 World Championship in 1951 and 1.

Overall, there are impressive and curious stories to discover about the boats. Some of the engines used in racing boats were on loan from the racing department - and were also looked after by the factory technicians.
It is legendary that Alfa Romeo was involved in as many speed records and world and European championship titles on the water as the brand was on the asphalt.
