Without an audience, but with lots of excitement and 15 nominees in six categories: the winners of the German Audiobook Prize 2021 can be heard in a two-hour radio show.
The broadcast will take place on May 26, 2021, live from 20.04:5 p.m., on WDR XNUMX and other ARD cultural channels.
The award ceremony will take place in the WDR radio building on Wallrafplatz in Cologne. The German Audiobook Prize Association received more than 300 submissions for this year's competition.
Unlike in previous years, the winners will only be announced on the evening itself. WDR 5 presenter Marija Bakker will speak to the winners.
Samples from all productions can be heard. The band Selig provides music with an exclusive live performance.
In addition to WDR 5, the radio show can also be heard on HR2 Kultur, MDR Kultur, NDR Kultur, RBB Kultur, SR 2, SWR2 and Deutschlandradio.
The program will then be available in the ARD audio library. This year, the German Audiobook Prize is once again the opening event of the international literature festival Lit.Cologne.
