Last year, the Tesch winery had to contend with an intense challenge: rapidly changing weather conditions.
However, these contrasts have resulted in a remarkable new vintage that is sure to delight connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
The year 2023 began quietly, with a cool and wet spring, especially in May. After the extreme drought of the previous year, this was a boon for the vines.
Young vineyards in particular, whose roots are not yet deeply anchored, benefited enormously from the rainfall. The late budding of the vines enabled the plants to develop normally.
The summer then brought a few weeks of heat and drought, but optimal conditions prevailed when the grapes blossomed at the end of June. The sufficient water supply ensured that the grapes were able to develop excellently.
But as so often happens, the weather once again took a surprising turn: September was warm and humid, which accelerated the ripening of the grapes faster than expected.

The early harvest presented challenges for the winery, but thanks to joint efforts, the fully ripe grapes were harvested in record time.
The result of this intense wine year? A vintage of impressive complexity. The fruit aromas of the 2023 Riesling are more exotic, and the fullness of the wines is reflected in a rich, multi-layered appearance.
The Tesch winery is convinced that this vintage is one of the most exciting and versatile Riesling vintages of the last decade.
